Ultimate Buds UB5
The UB5 is a great intermediate headset for those looking for great sound, great looks and durable construction. We've taken things to a new level with this latest revision of the UB5, now featuring a proprietry driver and patent pending tuned enclosure technology.
The microphone assembly has been updated to be more robust than previous models. It's tiny, about the same dimensions as the original Apple one. Unlike the Apple microphone, this microphone has an integrated windscreen. You just squeeze the assembly to control playback on the iPhone or other compatible devices (same as the original iPhone headset design).
Sonically, our goals were similiar to the original UB5; that is, a neutral sound with a solid bass response. Based on extensive customer surveys and feedback, we've updated the sonic response slightly to increase bass and mellow out the top end just a bit. Some people call this a 'wamer' sound. The speaker used in UB5 is still the largest diameter possible, which when combined with our new enclosure tuning provides tight and solid bass response without being overbearing or muddy.
The materials and construction are top notch. We used as little plastic as possible in this design. The earbuds, the splitter and the plug are all made of lightweight anodized aluminum. Like all our products, we'll give you 10 days to check them out with your own music and return them for a full refund if you don't like them.
We know that different people prefer different sounding headphones, and the UB5s are extrememly versatile in their ability to handle various EQ settings. For example, if you prefer a stronger bass presense, use the "bass boost" EQ setting on the iPhone. If you prefer a brighter sound, the "acoustic" EQ setting should do the trick. The UB5 uses high-end drivers capable handling the EQ settings without distortion like some other models are known to do.

Special Note: Some customers have reported a muffling effect due to the foam protective filter we use in the UB5. If you experience this, the foam protector can be easily removed with a pair of tweezers. Contact us for details.
