The Ultimate Buds Apple/Etymotic ER-6i earphones are easily the best earphones currently made for the iPhone. Our strategy is simple - take the best of what is available and make the best earphones possible at the best price.
The iPhone Cord
Of all the things Apple got right with the iPhone, the cord/microphone/button assembly is one of them. The length is perfect, the cable is perfect and the microphone/pushbutton assembly is unbelievably compact and yet works extremely well. After extensive testing and customer feedback, we've concluded that the generation 2 Apple headset is more robust than other designs on the market (even our own HS1) and has the best microphone sound quality. Effective 12/8/08 all of the new UB7s will ship with generation 2 Apple iPhone cable assemblies.
Also, consider that we can replace the UB7 cord for you for a low cost, even if it is damaged out of warranty. This is not possible with other iPhone headphones on the market. With other products, a simple pullled or torn cable could make them useless.
The Buds
The buds are the highly rated Etymotic Research ER-6i in white. The in-the-ear design offers incredibly detailed music reproduction and bass response unlike anything you've heard before if you've been using standard Apple ear buds. The ER-6i's have been designed to work specifically with the iPod/iPhone by increasing sound output and bass response. The design offers the highest noise isolation of any headphone/earphone design without the bulk and annoyance of battery powered noise isolation. They are comfortable enough for everyday use, but they really shine on airplanes, subways, gyms or other noisy environments. Because the outside noise is isolated, you'll find you will be able to decrease the volume but still make out subtle details of your music. Check out the review of the ER-6i buds at

. Please note that the ER-6i's provide an accurate sound reproduction, they DO NOT provide excessive bass like some people are looking for. If you prefer a strong bass presense, then you may not be happy with the ER-6i buds; we suggest you take a look at our

Other Phone Compatability
The UB7 headset works with phones other than the iPhone. Most phones that play music and use a 3.5mm, 4 contact plug will work perfectly with the UB7. This includes several of the Blackberry devices.

FAQ
We've received several questions recently regarding the difference between the UB7 and the newly released Etymotic hf2 headset. Here is a list of the main differences:
1. The UB7 microphone assembly is much smaller than the hf2. The weight of the UB7 is also less as a result.
2. The UB7 cable is white, the hf2 cable is black.
3. The UB7 cable assembly can be replaced if it gets damaged in the future.
4. The UB7 is cheaper!
5. The UB7 is assembled in the USA.
6. Sonically there is very little difference between the two, both are excellent!
We recommend the UB7 if you like acoustic music, jazz, blues, classical, country, alternative and some rock or if you need to highest level of noise isolation available.
